Description

Build your static model fleet with the G.222 Panda / C-27A Chuck plastic model kit. The twin-engined Aeritalia G-222 was designed, during the late 60s, by the aeronautical engineer Giuseppe Gabrielli. Gabrielli was the father of an impressive number of military aircraft from the Second World War. The G-222 was created for a specific need for tactical transport aircraft which was smaller than the four-engine Lockheed C-130 Hercules, able to take off and land on short and unprepared airstrips. The first flight took place in 1970 and from the mid 70s, it was assigned to the flight departments of the italian airforce. Thanks to two turbo prop engines, the aircraft is able to reach the speed of 480 kph. It also has excellent handling and maneuverability even at full load. From 2005 it has been progressively replaced by the more modern C-27J Spartan.
