Description

The HobbyKing™ Lil3Der is a classically styled fun fly model that is both docile and agile, depending on the setup. The large square wing and light weight gives excellent low speed handling while large control surfaces means you can throw the Lil3Der around with minimal effort. We have optimized this design to give a light control feel.

The Lil3Der arrives almost ready to fly, just needing an evening or two worth of build time to complete. The all built up balsa and plywood airframe is strong where it needs to be, but overall very light. It has proven to be a durable model, taking the knocks of flying it low and slow. The elevator servo is mounted in the aft fuselage providing a short, direct linkage. To help centralize the weight, the rudder is mounted under the removable canopy/hatch, utilizing pull-pull cables for a precise, low drag setup. A complete hardware package with all control horns, cables, control rods, CA hinges, plastic wheel pants, wheels, and landing gear is included.

In addition to the large wing area for excellent low speed handling, the Lil3Der also has a broad CG range. This means you can set it up with low control throws and a conservative CG for a docile aerobatic trainer, or crank up the controls and make it as wild as you want. With good throttle management, it will fly for 10+ minutes, even on a 1300mah pack. One of the greatest things about the Lil3Der is the light roll control feel. The ailerons remain completely effective, even at the lowest of airspeed.
